Sustainability

Alexane Rachelle functions under a made-to-order model for most pieces, which prevents excess waste of unsold pieces and allows for custom sizing and accommodation.
Ready-to-ship pieces are very limited to once again, avoid excess waste. As we do not work with a manufacturer and instead produce everything in-house, there is no minimum order quantity to deal with and pieces created will always find a home.

Second-hand textiles are used in select styles, and smaller accessories are created from the fabric scraps of cut pieces to reduce textile waste.

Alexane Rachelle pieces are made with quality in mind, as clothing that lasts through time is mandatory for sustainable fashion practices. A large selection of AR pieces are adjustable and allow AR clients to keep wearing their pieces throughout the years even as their body changes.

Labor Practices

Every step of the process from design, to patternmaking and handcrafting the pieces is done by Alexane Rachelle in her Québec home studio, as well as additional steps such as marketing, packaging, website-building, etc.

As an autistic-owned brand, it is imperative that people and their needs are being respected, and that applies to the current one-woman show of Alexane Rachelle creating every aspect of the clothing, as well as any future employees.

Quality is always at the forefront of the garment-making process, and Alexane Rachelle single-handily creating every piece ensures that they are all made with care.
